“Meaningfully amazing” is what I came up with to describe my IDC experience with Ed. All the training I had was realistic and applicable to a real-life situation. The primary purpose of the IDC is to train people to pass the IE, but I strongly feel that I had so much more than that. I always felt his passion in scuba diving, and now that I passed the IDC and IE, I feel confident as a professional scuba instructor. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate Ed and all the other staff who supported us during the IDC, especially Summer the Staff Instructor. I just want to list every single person here, but I just want to say this huge accomplishment came not only from my efforts but from their help. I unfortunately had to leave right after the IE, but I will do what I can do back home and come see Ed as soon as possible to do my MSDT. This whole experience could not have been better.

I came to Roatan planning on becoming a Dive Master, Open Water Scuba Instructor and doing some specialties towards my MSDT (Master Scuba Diver Trainer). During my first month I worked with Ed on my Dive Master. He did an excellent job in preparing me for the IDC. His high expectations of me during my Dive Master Training is exactly what I was looking for in my internship. I was able to get a ton of experience assisting in teaching both in the pool and in the ocean, and had lots of opportunities to interact with Customers, other Dive Masters, Instructors, and the Captains. Everyone was friendly and willing to help me learn the Dive Master role. After completing my Dive Master Internship, I had a few days off to relax and prepare for the IDC. Tim Palmer, who was our Course Director was amazing to work with. I couldn't have asked for a better IDC experience. His passion for diving, and for wanting us to succeed as instructors showed in his teaching. His familiarity with the Instructor Exam (IE) and what was expected of us was extremely helpful in our preparation. He took the time to make sure we were all fully prepared, and confident going into the exam. I had three other people in my IDC class, and we not only all passed, we passed with flying colors. Thank you Ed, Tim, everyone else that helped along the way, and Subway Watersports for an amazing experience. Following the IE, we spent the next 5 days working on our MSDT specialties. We got the opportunity to do a bunch of dives together (training dives for the specialties), and it was a great way to end my training.

I came to Roatan, back in December, to do my dive master internship, and whilst being here, not only have I learnt to become a great dive master but also learned the ins and the outs of how a dive shop operates, which was a Bonus as after finishing the dive master internship, I went on to do my IDC here which at first I was worried about, but all the staff here were so helpful and reassured me all along the way. My course director Tim Palmer was superb in the way he ran the IDC and explained stuff, not to mention all the mentoring he did is his own time for me! Before coming to Subway Watersports, I wasn't sure if diving was the correct career choice for me but after completing all the courses here and passing them! I am aspired to follow on a career as a PADI instructor. I would highly recommend Subway Watersports, as the training is out of this world, and I wouldn't have wanted to do this anywhere else, everything about this Island is amazing!

Well, it's been an eventful time since I started here as a Divemaster intern at the beginning of February. Thanks to your wonderful instructor, Laurie and all the staff at Palmetto Bay, I was able to realize my dream of becoming a Divemaster. And to realize; it in time to enroll in the IDC course starting on March 13th. With the superb guidance and tutelage of Course Director, Lior I was able to be successful in the Instructor Exams this past Thursday and Friday. So, not only did I gain Divemaster status but I was able to go further and gain Instructor status. On April 9th, my flight departs Roatan for home in Guelph, where I will then be able to begin teaching SCUBA...first to my own children and then to anyone else who is interested. Thank you, Patrick and your team at Subway Watersports.

From the busy city life of South Africa to the calm waters of the Caribbean. This is where my journey to become an Openwater Instructor led me. And I couldn't have picked a better place. I was received with open arms from the Team at Subway Watersports. From the first day I met the course director I knew that I made the right choice. As far as diving knowledge goes this guy has to be the Yoda of diving! I felt at ease from the beginning of my training up to the point I got my Certification as an Instructor. I am still amazed at his patience with me throughout the entire course. I would recommend anyone serious about diving to do their courses with Lior Beser, he is by far the best Instructor and Course Director I have ever met. And I say this with confidence coming from two previous diving institutions and eleven years of diving experience! Thanks Subway and many thanks Lior.

"IDC with Lior was both challenging and fun. His enthusiasm for diving and teaching is apparent and contagious. While the course was intense and very thorough it was also paced out just right. There was plenty of time to review and gain confidence any areas that I wasn’t sure about. I was in the October 2010 IDC with Lior as my course director at Subway Watersports. Not only did I pass but the entire group passed and had a great time doing it. Lior prepared us thoroughly for the IE and helped us prepare for real world teaching after the IE. Just want to say thanks again to Lior and the guys at Subway for a great time. I hope to make it back to visit some time soon.

Everette was great! A delight to learn from! He explains everything in such an easy way. It really shows that he cares. I was really impressed with his experience and knowledge. There isn't a thing that he can't relate to. It makes you as a student feel comfortable that you are receiving what ya paid for. A great education! I did my Divemaster certification 7 months prior to my IDC. So, my theory was rusty, Everette helped me study after class. He really cares about his students and strives for everyone to pass the IE. It was a pleasure and honor to learn under Everette. He is everything I could ask for in a PADI Silver Course Director!

I truly believe there are few Course Directors who will prepare you for the IE and beyond better than Everette. When I showed up to the IE, I was understandably nervous, but as you move through the phases you get less and less stressed because the IDC was actually harder than the IE! He is always up to date on standards, and adapts his teaching to ensure that you're getting a complete education. I was pleased that our training was beyond the basics. CFC and AED instructor credentials are provided as well. I believe that Subway has fairly good value when it comes to the IDC, and is competitively priced in comparison to other places. I would definitely recommend taking the IDC with Subway simply for the fact that it is being taught by one of the best Course Directors in the business, don't hesitate, take the Subway to Adventure!

I signed up for the course last minute and was very happy that I did. I was lucky enough to get Everette as my teacher. He covered everything in such a fun and easy atmosphere and made the material seem simple. Even the practice teaching sessions were fun. Everette was patient and thorough. He really made the class fly by while teaching us everything we needed to know for the exam. With all the practice I got, I feel very confident that I can teach diving successfully.

Just PASSED my IE which I had no doubt I would, being that our course director Everette has a 100% pass rate. Everette is very knowledgeable at what he does and makes sure that you are 100% ready for the IE. After finishing my IDC with Subway Watersports under the guidance of their new course director (Everette) the IE was a breeze!!! I want to thank everyone at Subway Watersports especially Everette for making it fun and being sure we were all super prepared for the IE.
