Alejandro Hernandez (Mexico)
aka Typo plans
to make diving a profession and is attending
Subway's DM internship in April before
continuing on to our Instructor Development
Course. He has put significant research into
his choice of Subway and is very eager to
start his new life as soon as possible.
Andrea
Montenegro (USA) - Andrea is originally
from
Brazil and grew up close to the water. The ocean
has always been her passion and she is looking
forward to the good life she will have as a
scuba instructor.

Luc Paquin
and Cynthia Theberg (Canada) - The first thing
Cynthia and Luc wanted us to know is that they
are passionate about diving. They are doing the
Divemaster Internship with Subway during May.
Luc is a general manager of a very trendy
restaurant in Montreal and Cynthia is a dentist
assistant and barmaid.
Christian
Karrer (Swiss) - Chris was born in
Switzerland and started diving 2006 in
Sardinia where he lived for the last 11
years. He became a dive professional in 2006
working in Sardinia/Italy and Costa Rica
after he started to work in the dive
business 1998 as captain. His biggest
passion is the sea, over and under it and he
is an expert sport fishing guide and captain
with more than 16'000 miles sailing.
He speaks (Swiss) German, Italian, English
some French and Spanish too.
Steven
Ryan (USA) - Steven was born and raised
in California where he began his scuba
journey. He came to Roatan from Oahu
Hawaii where he became a Divemaster in
2005 and Boat Captain for a dive shop in
2007. He loves free diving, sailing and
new adventures.

Gilad Cohen
-
Gilad
was born and raised in Israel. He started scuba
diving at the age of 13. Most of his dives were
in the red sea. Travel has figured in much of
his diving, China and US, Hawaii. Gilad
completed his Dive Master course in 2005. Gilad
is NOT (unfortunately) related to the famous
singer Leonard Cohen. His past times include
Bike riding, Sky diving and mountain climbing.
He is a Nitrox certified Diver. After his IDC,
he will begin his university studies on October.
Steven
English (Canada) – Steven is currently
an accountant yet cannot resist
underwater exploration and archaeology.
He has a passion for the exciting
underwater world and enjoys introducing
people to the world of diving and
overcoming their challenges. He would
like to know more about the diving
industry and working as an instructor.
Steven has been diving in the Caribbean,
Mexico, Canada (West Coast) he enjoys
travelling and diving in warm places,
where he don’t need a dry suit.
Brian
Koester (USA) - After nine years in the
"professional arena" working in graphic
design and print production Brian is ready
for a change. He would like to combine his
experience in printing with some underwater
subject matter.
Brian lives in New Mexico and has dived
in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Florida
and New Mexico (yes, there are some watering
holes in the desert).
Suzanne
Reichenbach-Sisk (New Zealand) – Suzy
has been diving for eight years. She
completed her Divemaster training in the
colder waters of the Cook Strait, NZ in
May 2008. Summer 2008 spent in West
Virginia instructing groups in outdoor
activities, white water rafting, rock
climbing, caving, and confidence
building on high ropes. Winter 2008-2009
worked and skied in Fernie, BC. Summer
worked as a DM and swim instructor in
Vancouver. Suzy loves the outdoors and
adrenalin sports and is looking forward
to sharing her passion for diving with
like minded people.
September
Sargon
Smith (USA) -
Sargon is currently working as a Divemaster in
Islamorada.
A Master Educator in Leave No Trace, Sargon's
interest in conservation has taken him from
Tongas, Alaska to the reefs of Islamorada.
He enjoys traveling, gliding,
rappelling, kayaking, and fast motorcycles, but
his greatest love is diving.
He cannot get enough diving - while
working as a commercial diver, he went
recreational diving and earned his Master
Diver.
After diving with Reef Gliders
last September, he decided on Roatan to complete
his OWSI and MSDT.
Mondo
Dennett (USA) - Mondo is a ski
patroller/paramedic at Winter Park
Colorado. Although late to the dive scene,
he is no less enthusiastic for the water and
ocean as he is for the snow and mountains.
Since retiring from the Air Force where is
travelled throughout the world, he has spent
many a summer on the beach at South Padre
Island, Texas and Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina.
October
Because Bob is on a deserved vacation (diving in
Indonesia) and attending a Course Director
update we are not offering an IDC in October.
November
Barbara Holub
- Austrian born and world traveler Barbara Holub
is gearing up for a career in diving. Currently
a professional from the hospitality industry for
over 15 years Barbara also speaks 5 languages.
She has also been busy logging over 300 dives in
the Caribbean, Thailand, Maldives, and
Indonesia. Wow. Now Barbara’s travels bring her
to Roatan to become a PADI Instructor.
Claire
Hughes (UK) - Claire’s diving has taken her to
Australia, Indonesia and Egypt…and now Roatan. She has finished the
Divemaster internship with Subway in September
and wants to carry on and become an instructor. Claire has experience
in the leisure industry as well as customer experience which helps
when working in the dive industrie.
Amanda
Krugen (USA) - Amanda currently lives in Costa Rica and works as a
lifeguard on the beach. She was introduced to diving about a year ago
and has been hooked ever since. She loves to travel and can't wait to
come to Roatan! She is doing the Divemaster internship with Subway in
October. Amanda likes anything adventurous, especially if it involves
water! And also horseback riding, shooting guns, surfing, wake boarding,
and of course scuba diving!
Kerry Wheldon
(UK)
- Kerry is from
Leeds, in England and worked in HR. After 3 dive holidays in Egypt she
decided to come to Roatan where she completed her Divemaster Internship with
Subway in October and liked it so much that she decided to do the instructor
course as well.
